Tracey is a small business owner, a mother, wife and works casually for an accounting firm. Busy is an understatement. Tracey is a big supporter or W2W and we can't wait for you to meet her.
Lets meet Tracey...
Tracey, what do you do for work?
I am part owner in a manufacturing business. My active role within this business is running of the day-to-day office as well as all things financial. I also have a casual position as Taxation Specialist with an Accounting Firm.
What kind of fashion do you like?
I look for items that are simple but stylish that can be easily paired and/or accessorised.
How do you like to feel in the workplace?
As I work in an industrial environment I like to look smart and professional.
What do you look for in corporate work wear?
The dominant colour in my work wardrobe is black and the use of accessories (whether it be bold earrings, scarf, shoes or simply a bright lipstick) can make a statement. I look for comfort but also a style that portrays professionalism. Having a few different pieces to mix and match that are easily maintained and durable is a must. With black as the main colour you can have so many different styles in tops and blouses but still maintain the connection to your place of work through the use of your corporate logo.
How important is it to look professional?
More so than comfort? Whether I am working or dressing casually I like to look good. It makes me feel good and more confident. Comfort is just as important as looking professional.
Favourite fashion trend from the past?
Earlier on in my career I loved the “Power Suit” look. Blouse, Skirt, Jacket, Stockings and Heels.
When you think powerful, confident and comfortable what piece of clothing comes to mind?
The “Power Suit” comes to mind but nowadays I believe a stylish top paired with tailored trousers or skirt and a beautiful pair of mid heeled shoes says it all.
Your Favourite Quote?
“I say dress to please yourself. Listen to your inner muse and take a chance. Wear something that says ‘Here I am today.” – Iris Apfel (Love this quote even though I am not as bold as Iris Apfel)
As a small business owner you probably work long hours. Is it important to you that you have clothes that are stylish and versatile?
Yes and being a busy mum of 4 sporty children means I leave work, do school pick up and run them to training. Its great to be stylish at work but also to be comfortable throughout the afternoon into early evening rushing about with kids and running errands.
